What dance level do I need to participate?
All levels are welcome! The lessons are tailored to the group’s skill level, and participants may be divided into smaller groups if needed. Even beginners can join and learn a lot during the trip.
If you want to travel with someone who does not dance and does not wish to participate in the dance classes, they can still join with a Chill Pass — the same trip experience but without dance lessons. Send us a message, and we’ll help arrange it.
What age group is this for?
Anyone can participate, regardless of age. That’s exactly what makes these trips so great — a balanced mix of ages and genders.
*You must be at least 18 years old to travel independently.
Traveling alone or as a couple
This trip is designed so you can travel alone, as a couple, or with friends. If you’re traveling as a couple and one person does not dance, we can arrange a “Chill Pass” option. This means they pay for the full program but without the dance classes.
This has been done before, and participants have said it’s a great solution, allowing even those who don’t enjoy dancing to join the trip.
Can I book a single room?
Yes, for an additional NOK 270 per night, you can book a single room (subject to availability). The listed price is based on sharing a room.
What about the flight ticket?
The flight ticket is not included, so you will need to book it yourself. It can be nice to coordinate with other participants and book the same flight so you can travel together.
When you register for the trip, you’ll receive information about which airline, dates, and times most participants are using. If you choose a different flight, you will still be picked up and transferred to and from the airport, and we’ll ensure you arrive safely.
You can use sites like Skyscanner.no to check prices and flight options.
How do I get from Havana airport to our accommodation?
We provide transport to and from Havana airport, as this is included. If multiple participants arrive on the same flight, we coordinate shared rides. If you arrive on a different flight, we’ll still be there to meet you outside the airport and ensure you get to your accommodation safely.
Currency, Exchange, and Payment Methods
In Cuba, it is no longer possible to withdraw money from ATMs or use debit/credit cards everywhere like at home. Therefore, you need to bring all the cash you will need for the trip.
Cash should be in USD / EUR. Upon arrival in Cuba, these dollars or euros will be exchanged into the local currency.
Make sure to calculate how much money you’ll need for the entire stay so you have enough cash for your expenses. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Payment
The trip is paid in two parts:
Part 1: The deposit is paid in NOK to secure your spot.
Part 2: The remaining balance is paid in cash in USD upon arrival in Cuba.
After registration
After you submit the registration form on our website, we will contact you via email. You will receive a summary of your booking — please check that all details (date, name, etc.) are correct. Confirm your booking by replying to the email.
You will then receive an invoice. Once it is paid, you will be added to a private Facebook group where we share all information about the trip as well as other useful updates.
About 2 months before departure, a joint information meeting will be held in Oslo for all participants. This is a great opportunity to get to know the people you’ll be traveling with and receive more detailed information about the trip.
Travel Insurance and Other Insurance
We recommend that everyone traveling with us has travel insurance. Make sure to bring a printed copy of your insurance documents in case anything happens to your phone. Check with your insurance provider to ensure your policy also covers travel in Cuba.
Regarding flight insurance, we recommend booking tickets with cancellation options. This is important because the situation in Cuba can be unpredictable. If unrest occurs in the cities we are visiting or the Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against travel, the trip will be canceled.
Can I request special meals?
When registering, it is important that you inform us if you require any special meals or have allergies. This allows us to coordinate in advance with the accommodations regarding what will be served for breakfast.
Otherwise, it is generally not a problem to find, for example, vegetarian options at restaurants in Cuba.
Do I need a visa for Cuba?
Yes. Everyone traveling to Cuba needs a visa. After registration, you will receive all the necessary information in the group, and we will guide you to ensure it’s done correctly.
All travelers must complete the D’Viajeros online form before departure. The D’Viajeros portal is available in Spanish and English and should be filled out 48 hours before your flight. The form covers general information, health details, immigration, and customs.
Once completed, you will receive a QR code by email, which must be presented upon arrival in Cuba — either on your mobile device or as a printed copy.
More information
If you want more practical information about Cuba as a travel destination, you can read more on the government’s official information page about Cuba.
Are all activities mandatory?
No, of course not. Sometimes you may want to relax, sleep in, or do other activities — and that’s perfectly fine. The program is designed so there is always something to do.
If you choose not to participate in an activity, please inform the tour leader so we know where you are. All activities are prepaid, so no refunds are given if you decide not to attend a specific activity.
Important Information About Cuba
Please note that Cuba, as a developing country, has a simple infrastructure and limited services that may differ from what you are used to. The availability of certain products can be limited, and restaurant menus may have fewer options with recurring ingredients. Transport facilities can be basic, and access to restrooms along the way may be limited. Additionally, travel times may vary depending on road and traffic conditions.
We recommend keeping this in mind when planning to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
